Down To Earth

"The Sound" - Track 1

Recently we have been looking at a theology of "noise" and how when God or his people are up to something there is usually a sound involved. That sound has power - the shout of the Hebrews at Jericho, Gideons army, the wind in the Balsam trees, the cry from the cross, the Word of God, the sound of worship and the good news. Neil was teaching at an "equipping the Levites" evening for worship teams and the introduction to this track has been taken from there.

The rest of the song is some extempore worship taken from an evening service. I love it when the song is built up from different people, one person sings a line and the others build around it. I think its a good reflection of unity when we worship our God together like this. Part of the role of the worshiping church is to declare Gods character, Holy, Holy, Holy... You are good and your love endures... Yesterday forever etc. etc. and we were worshiping like this, using each others inspiration to build “the song”.
