Babies and toddlers at Kingsland
Stay and Play and Sunday crèche
From babes-in-arms to pre-school toddlers, there’s plenty of fun and laughter at Kingsland in Colchester as we adventure through the years!
Monday 10 – 12 noon
Annette is full of great ideas for toddlers, making Monday’s a fun, action packed morning for toddlers and pre-school children. “I’m a big kid at heart myself and I just love getting mucky finger painting and playing games with all of the children. Each week we have a craft, lots of play dough, the slide and see-saw, ride on toys, trucks, trains and books, every child finds lots to do no matter what their age. Not forgetting the carers, there’s time to chat and have a cuppa while joining in with the play and our very noisy songs and instruments too at the end of our session! It is about children investigating the world and having fun.”
Tuesday 10am – 12 noon
Nikki and Amy have a ‘Stay and Play’ session every Tuesday from 10-12am. “Tuesdays is a chance to get together with other Mums and swap stories about what our little ones are up to and help each other with invaluable advice on how to tackle the challenges they present us with every day! When I first became a Mum it was so helpful to be able to find out how others were doing things and get some good ideas while making new friends too. We have lots of toddler toys and games, craft, bible stories and sing-alongs to join in with. And for the very young we have a special soft play area so that they can lie, roll and shuffle around as they explore the world.”
A donation of £1 is requested for Monday or Tuesday sessions.
Sunday morning crèche
Annette and Jess help to care for our youngest children on Sunday mornings. Annette is very experienced with the babies and ensures that they have a safe area to thrive and grow as part of the church. Mums and Dads are encouraged to stay for a while to help settle the little ones and ensure that there is a good ratio of adults to children. “From 0-3 years, the children have fun investigating the world with us. If they are shy and not ready at three to move up to starters, then we don’t mind if they stay a little longer with us, it is great that they feel safe here!”
