Comedians & Carols is BACK. Selling out every year, this is one of our most sought after events and the comedy lineup this year is packed with amazing talent! Bring the family expecting a sing-song, lots of laughs and an evening you won’t forget.

Paul Kerensa

 

Writer for BBC1’s Miranda and Not Going Out, among countless others, Paul Kerensa‘s the in-demand comic who plays comedy clubs and cathedrals. Most recently, he part of the writing team for TFI Friday, Top Gear, Royal Variety Performance and Buble at the BBC. Paul’s books include Amazon top 100 bestseller “Hark! The Biography of Christmas.”

Andrew Bird 

 A top headline act up and down the country and has performed all round the world. He has been tour support for Rhod Gilbert, Rob Brydon and Michael McIntyre including appearing at Wembley and the O2. He’s one of only seven comedians to perform for Banksy at Dismal Land. He’s written on TV shows Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and Lee Mack’s Duck Quacks Don’t Echo and is a regular guest on BBC Radio’s The Rhod Gilbert Show. 

Paul writes songs that affirm and provoke, raise giggle and a tear, and leave you humming the tunes on the way home. Delivered with trademark wit and warmth and some tasty acoustic guitar playing, Paul is an artist who aims to entertain and inspire in equal measure. Paul has released four albums – the latest of which is called “Small Town Boy”.


Jude Simpson

 

A unique writer and entertainer, combining insightful observational comedy with poetry, rap and song to create a unique act which leaves audiences smiling, laughing and occasionally hungry. Her writing is lighthearted and upbeat, though with a linguistic craftsmanship which has had her compared to Victoria Wood and Joyce Grenfell. Jude appeared with Matt Harvey on his Radio 4 show “Wondermentalist Cabaret”, on BBC Radio 7′s “Stand Up Poetry”, BBC Radio 4′s “Saturday Live”, BBC Radio 2’s “Eddie Izzard’s Late Night Cabaret” and was one of just 8 poets from across the UK to appear on BBC3′s slam show “Slam Poets”, hosted by Lemn Sissay. Jude has completed four successful runs at the Edinburgh Festival with a solo show of stand-up poetry, song and comedy.


James Sherwood

 is an award-winning musical comedian. Winner of Best International Show 2010, LA Theatre Review and Best Comedy Show 2010, Hollywood Fringe. As a writer he won a Sony Award in 2009 for The Now Show and has also written for The New Quiz, Newsjack and Look Away Now (BBC Radio 4). James recently created the new radio topical quiz show I Guess That’s Why They Call It The News for BBC Radio 4. “Imaginative musical jokes and beautifully crafted original comedy songs…The material he offers is fresh, contemporary and pin-sharp original.
